About Mactria Help
We are a small independent publisher that writes patient, practical technology guides. Our first project is a complete reference for managing Mac storage with the tools Apple already provides.
Mactria Media LLC publishes educational reference material for everyday computer users. We are based in San Francisco, we are deliberately small, and we write about software that you already own rather than software we want to sell you.
Why this subject
Storage warnings are the most common Mac problem that has an entirely free solution. Yet the search results for “Mac storage full” are dominated by paid applications and alarming pop-ups. We started Mactria Help because the honest answer is unglamorous and badly served: use Finder, use System Settings, use iCloud carefully, and keep a real backup. That answer deserves a carefully written home.
Editorial mission
- Describe only methods that work on a stock macOS installation.
- Explain what a step does before asking the reader to perform it.
- State the limits of our advice, including where it can go wrong.
- Never promise a specific result, and never recommend software we have a financial stake in.
How we work
Articles are drafted by the editorial team, then executed on test machines running current and previous macOS releases before publication. When a menu moved, we note both locations. When a recommendation could cause data loss, it carries a warning. Each page shows an approximate reading time so you can choose your moment. The full process is described in our editorial policy.
The team
We publish under role-based bylines rather than personal names, because the guide is the product and its accuracy does not depend on personalities. Each role below describes the work that was done, not a credential.
Editorial team
Drafts and maintains every chapter, decides what belongs in the guide and keeps the language plain. If a sentence needs to be read twice, it is rewritten.
Testing desk
Runs each procedure on stock macOS installations, records what actually happens and flags steps that cause unexpected behaviour or data loss.
Reader support
Answers questions sent to our support addresses, tracks recurring points of confusion and routes corrections back to the editorial team.
Standards and privacy
Maintains the privacy, cookie, refund and accessibility policies, and reviews the site against advertising and consumer-protection expectations.
