Our starting point: this site is quiet

This website is a static publication. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies, it loads no third-party scripts, it embeds no remote fonts and it makes no outbound requests from your browser. The only thing stored on your device is a single localStorage flag that records whether you dismissed the cookie notice. That flag never leaves your browser.

How we use information

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not use dark patterns to obtain consent, and we do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it. If you email us, you receive a reply, not a newsletter.

Disclosure to service providers

We may disclose limited information to providers who help us operate: an email provider, a payment processor engaged for checkout, and a hosting provider. These providers act on our instructions and are contractually limited to using the information for the service they perform for us. We do not permit them to use it for their own marketing.

Retention

Support correspondence is kept for up to twenty-four months so that repeat questions have context. Order and accounting records are kept for as long as tax law requires, which in California is generally seven years. localStorage flags persist until you clear your browser data.

Your California rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and why; to request a copy of the specific pieces we hold; to request deletion, subject to legal exceptions; to request correction of inaccurate information; to opt out of sale or sharing, which we do not engage in, and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, which we do not collect; and to be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

Your rights under the GDPR

Where the GDPR applies, we process enquiry data on the basis of your consent or our legitimate interest in answering you, and order data to perform a contract. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

How to exercise your rights

Write to [email protected] with enough detail for us to identify you and locate any records. We will verify your request using the email address on file and respond within forty-five days for California requests, extendable once, and within thirty days where the GDPR applies. We do not charge a fee for a reasonable request. An authorised agent may submit a request with written permission.

Children

This site is not directed to children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

Security

We use access controls and encrypted transport for email and hosting. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we keep the information we hold to a minimum, which is the most reliable protection of all.

International transfers

We are based in the United States. Where information from the EEA or UK is transferred to us, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses offered by our providers.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy materially, we will revise the effective date above and describe the change. Questions go to [email protected] or by post to Mactria Media LLC, 1180 Mission St, Suite 210, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States.
